Nippon Kayaku Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Nippon Kayaku”) and its group companies (hereinafter Nippon Kayaku and its group companies shall be collectively referred to as “the Nippon Kayaku Group”) believe that appropriately handling and protecting personal information is an important responsibility and shall appropriately handle personal information based on the following basic policy. The Nippon Kayaku Group shall handle personal information in accordance with the relevant laws/ordinances including laws/ordinances concerning personal information in the relevant country or region.
The Nippon Kayaku Group shall acquire personal information through fair and lawful means.
When acquiring personal information, the Nippon Kayaku Group shall clarify the purpose of using the said personal information in advance, notify or announce it to the individual in question, and then handle the said personal information within the scope of the purpose of use.
The Nippon Kayaku Group shall take appropriate safety management measures. Those shall include establishing rules pertaining to the handling of personal data; preventing the unauthorized access, falsification, leakage, destruction or damage of personal information; and taking other technical measures. In addition, the Nippon Kayaku Group shall put into practice the appropriate handling of personal information in daily operations by enhancing the awareness among officers and employees of the importance and necessity of personal information protection through education and training.
When jointly using personal data with overseas group companies, the Nippon Kayaku Group shall take measures relating to overseas transfer in accordance with laws/ordinances concerning personal information protection in the relevant country or region. Moreover, the Nippon Kayaku Group shall enter into a data transfer agreement with the group company that will jointly use the personal data to protect the said personal data.
The Nippon Kayaku Group shall not provide personal data to third parties without obtaining consent to do so except in the event otherwise stipulated by laws/ordinances.
In the event the Nippon Kayaku Group is asked to disclose, correct or suspend the use of personal data it retains from an individual, it shall respond in good faith in accordance with the provisions in laws/ordinances after confirming the identity of the said individual.
The Nippon Kayaku Group shall establish a point of contact to deal with questions and complaints concerning the handling of personal information. In the event a question or complaint is received from an individual, the Nippon Kayaku Group shall deal with it in good faith.
