Nippon Kayaku Participates in Summer Kids' Chemistry Experiment Show 2026 / Approximately 240 Children Experience the Wonders of Chemistry

2026/08/07

Nippon Kayaku participated in the "Summer Kids' Chemistry Experiment Show 2026" held at the Science Museum (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) on August 1st (Saturday) and 2nd (Sunday), where we hosted chemistry workshops for children.
The total number of visitors to the event was approximately 3,700, and a total of approximately 240 children participated in our workshops over the two days.
In our workshops, children had the opportunity to create their own original glow-in-the-dark ball straps using light-curing acrylic resin and phosphorescent dyes that store light and emit it in the dark.

The children explored the wonders of chemistry, asking questions like "Why does it harden with light?" and "Why does it glow in the dark?", while choosing their favorite colors and sequins to create unique original straps. When a black light was shone on their completed works, exclamations of "Wow, it glowed!" and "It's beautiful!" filled the venue with excitement. Many children were also seen happily showing their completed works to their parents.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who visited our booth on both days, despite the intense heat.

Nippon Kayaku will continue to convey the fun and possibilities of chemistry to the next generation of children through activities that foster their curiosity, encouraging them to ask "Why?" and "I want to try!"
