Compliance

The Nippon Kayaku Group believes that compliance refers to not only laws, regulations, and internal rules, but also to corporate ethics - that is, to all things impacting the integrity of our business operations. The Group is working to ensure that all employees (including temporary and part-time employees) understand the importance of compliance and raise their awareness of compliance issues.

On April 1, 2000, the company developed the Nippon Kayaku Charter of Business Conduct and the Nippon Kayaku Code of Business Conduct. It also offered an internal hotline for reporting or discussing compliance issue. In June 2006, a similar external hotline (a law firm) was put in place. Through such activities, Nippon Kayaku is serious about putting compliance into practice.

Compliance Management System

To ensure the effectiveness of the Charter of Business Conduct and Code of Business Conduct, an ethics committee and executive office has been established at Nippon Kayaku headquarters. Personnel responsible for ethics matters are appointed at each business worksites and at each domestic Group company. Each of these members work in collaboration with the Ethics Committee to ensure thorough respect and adherence to these standards.
