Aiming at contributing to medical treatments focusing on "cancer-related" field
In 1931, Yamakawa Seiyaku Co., Ltd., a company famous for aspirin production, was established. In 1943, Yamakawa Seiyaku was merged into Nippon Kayaku Co., Ltd. and our pharmaceutical business was launched. Since then, we have been engaged in the development, production, and sale of pharmaceuticals for more than 60 years.
In 1969, with the sale of "bleomycin," the first anti-cancer drug produced by Nippon Kayaku, which acted as a turning point, we have been engaging in business specializing in the field of cancer.
Currently, Nippon Kayaku provides 28 cancer-related products including 24 anti-cancer drugs; we have developed therapeutic products for various types of cancers.
In the specialty chemicals field, Nippon Kayaku has achieved the production of high-potency active ingredients. In the diagnostics field, we deal with certain products effective in diagnosing cancers and diabetes.
In addition, we have been developing new pharmaceuticals using our macromolecular technology, including a "polymaric micelle anti-cancer drug," experiments of this drug are currently being pursued.
Thus, as a company that helps patients in various phases of diagnosis, treatment and palliative care, etc. Nippon Kayaku has always emphasized the development of useful products, pertaining to our favorite "areas related to cancer treatment field," that contribute to medical treatments.
